Tolerating The Difficulties In Allah's Deen.

باچناں رحمت کہ دارد شاہ ہش
بے ضرورت از چہ گوید نفس کش
(Moulana Rumi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ )

The word ہش is shortened version of ہوش meaning sense, understanding or discretion. One has translated it as, The King Of Intellect.
Moulana Rumi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ brings our attention to the fact that had there been no need, the King of intellect who is also the Master of Mercy, would not have, without such need, directed us to opposing the Nafs. He would not have made Mujaahadah necessary. The very act of making Mujaahadah compulsory is proof enough of it being the bearer of great benefits and wisdom. Allah Ta'ala states:
والذین جاھدوا فینا لنھدینھم سبلنا
"For those who strive, who endeavour in Our path, We will open innumerable pathways of guidance"

What is the reward given to those who Resort to Mujahadaah on Our path, who in order to please us tolerate difficulties, who tolerate adversity in assisting our Deen, who, tolerate inconvenience and hardship in following our commands and in abstaining from our prohibitions, who transform their hearts into a fountain of blood but cannot tolerate displeasing us?
                            لنھدینھم سبلنا
It is the unfolding of innumerable Pathways of guidance for them, the commentary of which has been rendered by Allamah Alousi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ as,

" They are favoured by being granted ease in the journey towards us as well as reaching the objective, destination (i.e Allah Ta'ala) "

          They are not only given the opportunity to journey on the path leading to Allah Ta'ala but are also granted the ability to reach their destination which is, Wusool -il-Allah, reaching Allah Ta'ala. Furthermore, they are granted extreme closeness to Him. The internal experience and taste of such closeness in the divine Court cannot be properly expressed in words. Only those who are granted this closeness are aware of what it is. In attempting to in compass this reality with words and expressions, one is left helpless to do so.
We ask Allah Ta'ala  to grant this to us all, solely through His Infinite Grace. Ameen.
